Irish dancing provides a fantastic cardiovascular workout that will help you build fitness, increase your flexibility, and have fun while learning new steps.
Irish dancing classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays will include tuition in both light and heavy shoes, at all class levels.
New Beginner
For people who have never done Irish dancing before.
Beginner
For people who have danced in mainly in light shoes, without much experience in heavies.
Intermediate
For people who know the basic light dances (Reel, Jig, Slip Jig) and basic heavies (Heavy Jig, St. Patrick's Day).
Advanced
For people who have danced up to Méan Grad / Ard Grad (Prizewinner/Championship level) in competition, or have experience in performance/troupe work.

Shoes
Irish dancing classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays will include tuition in both light and heavy shoes, at all class levels.
Please note: We recommend that dancers have appropriate footwear.
Women's Light Shoes are also called Poms or Ghillies:

Heavy Shoes for both men and women are the same; the only difference is sizing.
Irish dancing shoes can be purchased at Dance World (various locations) or Fays Dance Shoes (Upper Dorset St, Dublin 1).
It’s also a good idea to check your local charity shop, Facebook Marketplace, DoneDeal.ie, and Adverts.ie for second-hand shoes
Tap shoes may also be purchased as a lower-cost alternative to heavy shoes, while ballet shoes can be worn instead of light shoes.
